Power by the Hour (PBH) Services

Both JetSpares (for AVRO RJ & BAe 146 aircraft) and MACRO (for ATP, Jetstream 32 and Jetstream 41 aircraft) programmes offer forward exchange services for rotable components, or guaranteed turn time program.

For a fixed rate per flight hour, chargeable on a monthly basis, JetSpares and MACRO customers benefit from access to a range of rotable components which are financed and maintained by BAE SYSTEMS. An unserviceable component can be replaced either from an on-site pool of stock, placed at the customer's premises, or from the MACRO or JetSpares pools in the European Logistics Centre (ELC) in Weybridge. The unserviceable item must be returned by the airline to the ELC for repair or overhaul before rejoining the MACRO or JetSpares pools or direct to the vendor in the case of Integrated PBH customers. Items beyond economic repair due to normal wear and tear incur no additional cost to the customer.

The PBH services are individually tailored to satisfy each operator's fleet specification and requirements.

Both programmes are designed to minimise AOGs and delays resulting from component failure, by providing operators with:

  • Tailored on site stock with immediate access to No Go/Essential Parts
  • Access to dedicated pool stock in ELC, strategically located near International airports
  • Dedicated contact for all enquiries and progress updates
  • Complete support team to control process, including contracts, logistics and engineering
  • 24 h/day all year round access
  • Repair and overhaul loop continuously reviewed to maintain high service levels
  • Fixed accounting with no initial investment and reduced overheads
  • Further options possible including APU, Repair & Overhaul only, inclusion of customer's own stock in pool, buy back of customer's stock
