Test, Development and Demonstration Aircraft
The table above covers only those aircraft delivered to, or on order by, external customers. In many programmes there are a number of test, development and demonstration aircraft that are not part of the delivered fleet. These aircraft are described below. The serial numbers are manufacturer's construction numbers.
     
Avro RJ
170 aircraft were built and all have been delivered to customers.
     
BAe 146
221 aircraft were built, of which 219 were delivered to customers. The other two are:

BAe 146-100 E1001, later converted to BAe 46-300 E3001, converted to the Atmospheric Research Aircraft and became operational from mid 2004.

146-200 E2008, the -200 development aircraft, which was dismantled at Filton.
     
JetStream 41
104 aircraft were built, of which 100 were delivered to customers. The other four are:

41001 which remains with BAE SYSTEMS; 41002 which was dismantled in 1997; 41003 which was dismantled in 1997; 41004 which remains with BAE SYSTEMS
     
JetStream Super 31 / 32
166 aircraft were built, of which 163 were delivered to customers. The other three are:

956 which was destroyed on 6 October 1992; 983 which is stored at Woodford; 984 which was dismantled in 1997
     
JetStream 31 
220 aircraft were built. All were delivered to customers.
     
ATP / JetStream 61 
63 ATPs were built of which 62 were delivered to customers. The first aircraft, 2001, remains with BAE SYSTEMS.
