BAE Systems Regional Aircraft has sold a Jetstream 41 regional turboprop (msn 41101) to Florida-based K-Tractor, the leading provider of aftermarket tractor replacement parts for Komatsu® equipment. The aircraft, which will be converted into executive configuration, will be used to transport employees throughout the Southern USA for its tractor parts supply company.
Given the Jetstream 41 fleet is, on average, only about ten years old, until recently, supplies of the aircraft were limited, but the decision of US-based Trans States Airlines to focus on an all-jet fleet and the demise of Independence Air has meant that availability of the aircraft for the secondary market has opened up.
As a result, Regional Aircraft has successfully leased four Jetstream 41s to fast-growing Eastern Airways of the UK and in its own right Eastern Airways has recently acquired a further six aircraft to bring its overall Jetstream 41 fleet to a world-leading 25 aircraft.
In late May Regional Aircraft also announced the lease of four Jetstream 41s to Yeti Airlines of Nepal. The first two aircraft have been delivered and these aircraft will be used on scheduled services within the country and also on Mount Everest/Himalayan scenic flights.
Regional Aircraft believes that there is a strong market for the fast and economical 29-seat Jetstream 41 either for regular passenger operations or in executive or light freight applications.
