Jetstream, Jetstream 31/32 and Jetstream 41. Regional Aircraft Engineering is capable of new aircraft design, worldwide fleet support and conversions to its own and third-party products. In recent years it has been heavily involved in the design of the Large Freight Door for the ATP Freighter and the conversion of a BAe 146 to the Atmospheric Research Aircraft. It also was responsible for the development and certification of a maritime patrol version of the Jetstream 41 for the Hong Kong Government Flying Service. In addition to its core design engineering work to support the Regional Aircraft in-service fleet, Engineering is involved with a growing portfolio of design work on behalf of other OEMs. Currently it is responsible for the design and engineering of major elements of the Nimrod MRA4 fuselage and wings, plus significant involvement in systems, performance, weights, flight test instrumentation, structural testing and support to manufacture. |
