Operating Manuals

Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM)

- the Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM) contains limitations, operating procedures and performance information necessary to operate the aircraft at the level of safety established by the aircraft's certification basis. It is therefore a legally required document. Historically the AFM contained all the necessary information to safely operate the aircraft. More recently, however, it is the associated Manufactures Operational Manual (MOM), Crew Manual or Flight Crew Operating Manual (FCOM) which provides the crew with the main source of information on the flight deck.

Flight Crew Operating Manual (FCOM)

- the new FCOM has been produced to replace the existing BAe 146 and AVRO 146/RJ MOM. The FCOM provides a set of manuals intended to be the primary source of information on the flight deck. The FCOM manuals contain colour illustrations and photographs. It has been designed to be user friendly and intuitive. FCOM has been developed over a number of years with the input of operators resulting in a set of high quality manuals designed to meet today¿s regional jet operations

Despatch Deviations Guide (DDG)

- provides advisory information regarding those items which require maintenance and/or flight crew action prior to aircraft despatch. It may be used as a guide when preparing the aircraft, while carrying one or more allowable deficiencies in accordance with the Master Minimum Equipment List.

Manufacturers Operations (MOM) and Crew Manual (CM)

- These manuals complement the AFM. They have been produced to provide normal and abnormal/emergency operating procedures, as well as performance and system operation descriptions. These manuals have been developed over the years and are used routinely by flight crews. Operators may use these manuals as the basis of their own company Operations Manuals, or produce their own manuals such as the normal and abnormal/emergency checklists.

Master Minimum Equipment List (MMEL)

- provides a master list that can be used to produce an operator's Minimum Equipment List.
