The Maintenance Planning Team use MSG-3 analysis, an industry standard analytical procedure, to establish and develop maintenance and inspection tasks within a Maintenance Review Board (MRB) process. The results of the analysis drive proposed changes to the maintenance programmes. The objectives are to optimise maintenance programmes whilst maintaining the inherent safety and reliability of the aircraft.
- An MRB Working Group, composed of representatives from BAE SYSTEMS, operating airlines, vendors and regulatory authorities meet at regular periods to review the maintenance programme. Proposed changes which have been agreed by the MRB Working Group are then reviewed by a subsequent Industry Steering Committee (ISC), also composed of representatives from BAE SYSTEMS, operating airlines, vendors and regulatory authorities. Changes which have been formally approved by the ISC are incorporated into the Maintenance Review Board Report (MRBR) which defines minimum maintenance requirements for the aircraft type.
- The Maintenance Planning Team in partnership with Shared Services and Exostar has introduced ForumPass, an innovative electronic collaboration tool. This allows us to share information with Working Group members, discuss proposed changes and obtain acceptance or rejection of changes prior to the scheduled Working Group meeting. As a direct result of ForumPass implementation the need for face to face meetings is reduced along with the associated costs.
- MSG-3 Analysis Training Courses are run at our Prestwick facility when required. For further details please see our brochure.

A Maintenance Development Group, composed of representatives from the operating airlines and BAE SYSTEMS review the recommended maintenance programs when necessary. Operators wishing to optimise their own maintenance programme should discuss it with their local regulatory authority after producing a well documented proposal, with supporting evidence for task intervals they wish to escalate.
